Technology Needs


The technology requirements very slightly for campus and online courses. Below is information for every level of technology requirement.


Additional Requirements for Online Courses

Hardware

  • A computing device that meets or exceeds the minimum technical requirements of UF, the College of Public Health and Health Professions, e-Learning in Canvas, and ProctorU
  • Must have administration permissions on the device (particularly during exams)
  • A webcam
  • A headset with earphones and microphone
  • For certain courses, you will also need some form of a video capture device

Software

  • Software, browser, components, and privacy settings that meet or exceed the minimum requirements of UF, the College of Public Health and Health Professions, e-Learning in Canvas, and ProctorU.
  • A browser that supports UF websites
  • Acrobat reader
  • A media player, such as Microsoft Media Player
  • Antivirus protection
  • Some courses will require additional software downloads during the course

Internet Service

  • Internet service that meets or exceeds the minimum technical requirements of UF, the College of Public Health and Health Professions, e-Learning in Canvas, and ProctorU
  • Broadband is strongly recommended

  • Supported Browsers (including components and privacy settings)
  • Along with the most recent version of a popular browser, you will need up-to-date versions of Flash and Java
  • You may also need to adjust your browser privacy settings
