Completing the Certificate

The University of Florida Graduate School will issue a Graduate Certificate to students who complete this program and note the student’s transcript with this award. Students must complete the certificate program under these guidelines:

CERTIFICATE GUIDELINES
1.Students must complete 5 certificate courses in the UF College of Public Health and Health Professions
2.Students must complete the program with a 3.0 GPA or better
3.Students must complete all courses with a C or better
4.Students must pass an open-book final exam demonstrating an understanding of the 10 Essential Public Health Services
5.Students must request the official certificate during the last semester of courses

If you complete the UF Graduate Certificate in Public Health and wish to apply in order to earn the full MPH, please see the MPH website for admission criteria, application materials, and deadlines. Successful completion of the certificate program does not guarantee admission into the MPH program. Please note that UF requires that degrees be completed within 7 years, so plan your admission into the MPH with this timeline in mind.

Note: Non-degree certificate students who complete the certificate program courses with a grade of “B” or better can transfer these credits to the UF MPH degree program if subsequently admitted to the MPH program. Application of non-degree coursework to a degree program is handled on a case-by-case basis.
